Built on a Legacy of Care
Dr Helen Nkandi-Shiimi was more than a doctor. She was a visionary, a healer, and a passionate advocate for accessible healthcare in Namibia. In 2009, she founded Star Medical Services with a clear and powerful mission: to make quality healthcare available to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation.
Her approach to medicine was deeply human. She believed that every patient deserved to be seen, heard, and cared for with dignity. Through her work, she built not just a medical practice, but a trusted space where communities could find comfort, healing, and hope.
In 2020, following her passing, her vision did not end; it evolved. Today, her children, Dr Iyaloo Shiimi and Dr Edward Shiimi, carry her legacy forward, expanding Star Medical Services while staying true to the values she instilled.
They are not only continuing her work; they are building upon it. Reaching more communities, improving access to care, and strengthening the foundation she laid.
